Offshore staffing in the Philippines

We find the person. Our Philippine partner employs them. You direct the work.

Virtual Staffer is an offshore staffing company. Offshore staffing means we find and screen a dedicated staff member in the Philippines, our Philippine partner employs them, and you direct their daily work. You interview and choose from our shortlist, and pay one all-inclusive monthly fee per staff member, by quote. Clients can be based anywhere.

2,600+ complete candidate profiles, 500+ of them active in the last 30 days.

Who it is for

Is offshore staffing right for you?

Know in a minute whether this fits, and where to go if it does not.

If you want a person in the Philippines but no company there, some of this will sound familiar.

The cost is not the job post. It is the time to learn another country’s employment rules, the risk of getting contributions or final pay wrong, and a search that starts over when a first hire leaves. In this service, one company finds the person and another employs them, so the parts that are easy to get wrong are not yours to learn.

  • “I want someone in the Philippines full time, but I don’t have a company there.”
  • “I don’t know how SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG or 13th-month pay work, and I don’t want to get it wrong.”
  • “I’m not comfortable calling a full-time person a contractor.”
  • “I need to find the right person first, and then someone has to employ them.”
  • “I don’t want to be locked into an agency forever if it works out.”

When is it a good fit?

  • You want one dedicated team member in the Philippines, working on your tasks under your direction.
  • You do not want to become their employer, and you do not want to engage them as a contractor.
  • You want to interview a short list of screened people and choose yourself.
  • You would like one all-inclusive monthly fee for the person, rather than managing salary and contributions yourself.
  • You want a full-time or part-time team member.

When is another option better?

Which roles can you provide?

We provide admin, support, marketing, operations and finance roles, including accounting, bookkeeping and tax roles, and specialist roles such as software development, full-time or part-time.

You supervise the work. Professional sign-off, tax advice and filings stay with a qualified, licensed professional, and we make no claim about any candidate’s licences.

What you get

What do our offshore staffing services include?

A dedicated team member in the Philippines, chosen by you, employed by someone else.

How do we find your staff member?

Choose your person from a screened shortlist.

We run the search. You make the choice. These are the steps:

  1. 1.A discovery call. The first call is free and commits you to nothing.
  2. 2.We review your job description, or write it with you, so the role attracts the right people.
  3. 3.We map the salary against your US dollar budget, so you know what your budget buys before you interview.
  4. 4.We source candidates and hold screening interviews.
  5. 5.Every candidate takes an aptitude test. If you want a test of the actual work, we run a role-specific skills test on request, included, and you provide any software access it needs.
  6. 6.We endorse a shortlist to you: each candidate’s CV, redacted and laid out in our own format, with our notes from the screening interview and the aptitude test result. First candidate profiles arrive within 7 to 14 days of the signed agreement.
  7. 7.You interview the shortlist and choose who joins your team.
  8. 8.We check in around day 15 and day 30, inside the 30-day replacement window, so a problem surfaces while the free replacement still applies.

Yes. The move needs your own employing entity or contractor arrangement and the person’s agreement.

How is it different from hiring a freelancer yourself?

UsuallyWith a freelancer, you typically find, contract and manage the person yourself, often alongside their other clients.

With Virtual StafferHere, we find and screen the person, our Philippine partner employs them, and one dedicated person works on your work, under your direction. If you would rather search yourself, the self-service plans are there.

How is it different from an outsourcing firm?

UsuallyWith an outsourcing firm, you typically buy a task or an outcome delivered by the firm’s own team.

With Virtual StafferHere, you do not buy an outcome. One dedicated person works only on your work, under your direction, employed by our partner. We do not run a task or a department for you as a contracted result.

What do people ask before they book a staffing call?

Offshore staffing means a business has a dedicated staff member working for it from another country, while someone else handles the employment. With Virtual Staffer, we find and screen the person, our Philippine partner is their legal employer, and you direct their daily work. Employees work in the Philippines. Clients can be based anywhere.

Both are delivered with our Philippine partner as the legal employer. The difference is who finds the person. With offshore staffing, we find, screen and shortlist candidates, and you interview and choose. With employer of record, you have already found someone in the Philippines and our partner employs them. Need someone found first? That is offshore staffing.
